about ladakh

Spectacularly jagged, arid mountains enfold this magical Buddhist ex-kingdom.Ladakh has something for everyone and it never breaks anyone’s expectations. Picture-perfect gompas, serenity, exceptionally maintained culture. It's a little corner of Tibet marooned in the furthest reaches of India.

Ladakh, a union territory of India. People here are very sincere and honest, show respect to locals when you will be here. It is also known as 'The Land of the Mystic Lamas', 'The Broken Moon land', or 'The Last Shangri-La'. Every nook and corner of this territory has beauty which can only be withnessed by being there.

And we can all agree that there is something about the mountains that makes them irresistible for everyone. Rohtang actually means a “pile of corpses” and the name derived from a lot of people dying in bad weather, trying to cross the pass in old times. But do not let that scare you. The 112 km to Rohtang is a feast for eyes because of the beautiful vistas all around you. Road to Rohtang is a mix of super smooth and super rough patches. Kokhsar is the first village in Lahaul Valley and road bifurcates towards Spiti at Gramphoo, little before Kokhsar.
